Stacy Barter's oil paintings depict her intense fascination with light and atmosphere. "I am constantly striving to capture depth and dimension in my oil paintings. Stacy has been busy studying, drawing and painting the human figure, with her latest highlight of having the painting "In the Studio with Jenny" accepted into the 2010 Salon International held in San Antonio, Texas. Stacy has been accepted to exhibit at the 2010 Oil Painters of America National Exhibition held at The Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona, with her piece, Camellias and Leaves on Grandma's Chinese Table Scarf. Stacy will be teaching both a Still Life and Figurative class or workshop this fall at Crealde School of Art. Stacy has been selected for "Best of Worldwide Oil Artists and Artisans 2010. Stacy won 2nd Place at the 2009 Crescent Beach Paint Out. The Museum presentation of Stacy's work, Spring 2009, at the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts was a smashing success, attracting patrons of all ages from the southeast. Stacy enjoyed studying with Master Painter Huihan Liu, summer 2009, at his home studio in San Francisco.
Stacy is featured in the November 2008 edition of "The Artist's Magazine" "Stacy Barter Masterly Strokes" and includes an online progressional of her painting at www.artistsnetwork.com/article/barter-demo. In September 2008 Stacy was honored with a One Man Show at the cherished Casa Feliz in Winter Park, Florida, where her work made national headlines with a two day opening reception. Stacy has been acknowledged in August and June 2007 and January 2008 publications by SouthWest Art, with the latest article pointing to her as one of "10 Artists to Watch, Our picks for 10 promising talents to keep an eye on this year". In January 2008 she was one of 5 Artists invited to Show at the prestigious Rosalind Club. Stacy has continued to grow through her ongoing study with Master Painters. She attended the acclaimed Palette & Chisel in Chicago summer 2006 and in summer 2007 Studio Incaminati in Philadelphia. In fall 2007 she was a guest at the Sixth Annual Susan K Black Foundation Art Conference and Workshop in Dubois Wyoming. Stacy Barter won the prestigious Best in Show $25,000 award in the 2007/2009 Blossom--Art of Flowers National Exhibition and United States Tour. This competition was promoted worldwide and attracted 1742 entries from 14 countries. Sixty-one pieces were selected by a distinguished panel of eight judges including museum and independent curators, nationally known artists, and the editor-in-chief of American Artist Magazine. Selected for Best in America: Oil Artists and Artisans 2006, premier juried art book. Stacy received the Jury Top 50 Award at the 2005 International Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art, Salon International. Stacy won Best in Painting in Show - Any Medium at the 76th Annual American Artists Professional League Grand National Exhibition held at the Salmugundi Club in New York City. She also received the Oil Painter's of America Award of Excellence at the Eastern Regional Juried Exhibition in November, and the Award of Excellence for Best Still Life at the June 2004 National Oil Painter's of America Exhibition. She was selected as a back-to-back finalist in the Artist's Magazine 2002 and 2003 Annual Art Competitions out of 13,000 entries. Her work is included in the permanent collection of The Gulf Coast Museum of Art, and various celebrity homes. Stacy exhibited in both the 106th Annual Catharine Lorillard Wolfe and the 74th American Artists Grand National Exhibitions in New York City, where she received the Helen DeCozen Award for 'My Birthday Roses'. Her paintings were included in both the 72nd Annual Hudson Valley Art Exhibition and the International Museum of Contemporary Masters of Fine Art, Salon International.
She resides in Orlando, Florida with her husband Terry and teaches workshops and is on Senior Faculty with Crealde' School of Art in Winter Park.
